Start of Intellectual Output 2

05-09-2019

Intellectual Output 2 (IO2), which will be led by the UL team, will start this month with the assignment of the different tasks to the project partners. The major goal will be the development of the course contents and its integration in an online platform. Posteriorly, a validation of the course will be made, considering a panel of external experts on the covered topics.

End of Intellectual Output 1

01-09-2019

The definition of the course curriculum and structure marks the end of the Intellectual Output 1 (IO1). The different tasks allowed a better characterization of the project needs and to explore the potential interest by the project stakeholders. The IO1 results were very positive, showing a clear need for courses in the areas of frailty and falls. The analysis of the results retrieved by the different partners allowed to define the course structure and the topics, according to the information provided by the other project stockholders, which included people from different areas (e.g. Medical doctors, nurses, hospital managers, physiotherapists, formal and informal caregivers, students, among others).

Summarizing, the course will consider 4 modules that are divided in 3 sessions (2 sessions that include theory and applied examples and 1 for evaluation). The topics of the different modules comprise an introduction to the concepts of the frailty and falls, methodologies for frailty assessment, guidelines for intervention, cost evaluation of the frailty and falls problematics at social and institutional level, among others.

The specific topics of the course will be presented in a near future in the Fall-in-Age webpage.
